Snowpeak have a knack for getting a surprising amount of performance into very sensible packages, and the AP900 is the tactical, lightweight entry in that line. It’s aimed at shooters who want a compact, feature-rich PCP that won’t slow you down on the move — think mountain shooting: a mobile style of stalking and field work that prioritises lightweight kit, fast deployment and the ability to engage from improvised positions while covering rough ground.

Built for that mobile role, the AP900 pairs a low overall mass and folding stock with practical tactical features. The 118 cc tank with an integrated regulator delivers consistent pressure for accurate follow-ups while keeping the package compact; a reinforced mammoth/M-series magazine system brings reliable multi-shot capability without fiddly loaders; and the right-side lever gives fast, repeatable action for quick follow-up shots. At under 2 kg and folding to roughly 600 mm, it’s easy to carry in a pack or across difficult terrain — yet it still mounts optics and accessories via the upper Picatinny and M-LOK-compatible forend so you can tailor the rig to the job.

Why this matters for mountain shooting: the discipline favours rifles you can carry all day, deploy quickly from odd or improvised rests (rocks, rucksack, knee), and still shoot accurately. The AP900’s short 310 mm barrel and integrated silencer keep the profile low and manoeuvrable; the folding stock and quick side lever speed transitions; and the lightweight build reduces fatigue on long walks. In short, it’s designed so you can move further, react faster, and stay precise — without hauling a heavy bench rig.

Other practical features: a simple manual safety on the trigger, an adjustable two-stage trigger for tuning pull to your preference, and a pressure gauge to monitor remaining air. The integrated silencer is tidy and removable if you prefer a different moderator. Snowpeak have balanced features and price here — it isn’t a boutique rifle, but for mobile shooters wanting capability without bulk it’s a strong contender.
